About the Designer: Ferruccio Laviani

Born in Cremona in 1960, Ferruccio Laviani is a pivotal figure in contemporary Italian design. He belongs to the generation of designers who established themselves in the early 1990s within the De Lucchi studio.

Since 1991, he has served as the Art Director for Kartell, playing a crucial role in transforming the brand into a global icon of high-end plastic furniture. Laviani is celebrated for his ability to blend classic, almost "Baroque" silhouettes with cutting-edge industrial materials like polycarbonate.

Beyond the Take lamp, his most famous works include the Bourgie lamp and the Orbital floor lamp. His design philosophy focuses on "emotion through technology," turning everyday objects into expressive, sculptural pieces that fit seamlessly into modern living spaces.
