Top kwaliteit bronzen vuurvergulde en gepatineerde Empire pendule.  Zeer fraaie portiekklok uit de Empire-periode, vervaardigd in fijn vuurverguld brons, bekroond met een sculpturale groep die Cupido als smid voorstelt (Cupidon forgeron). Dit verfijnde allegorische thema is typerend voor de Franse smaak van het begin van de 19e eeuw.

De architecturale portiekstructuur wordt gedragen door faun-caryatiden, wat de compositie zowel evenwicht als een sterk sculpturaal karakter geeft.

De geëmailleerde wijzerplaat, gesigneerd Chevallier à Paris, verwijst naar de Parijse uurwerkmaker, terwijl het bronzen model wordt toegeschreven aan de beroemde bronsgieter Jean-Simon Deverberie, een van de belangrijkste vertegenwoordigers van de Empire-bronzen productie.

De kwaliteit van de gieting, de precisie van de ciselering en de harmonieuze proporties getuigen van hoogstaand Parijse vakmanschap.
