Symbolistic painting with original artist title "Vision", depicts a forest nympf with a fawn and was executed in 1908 by renown Austrian portrait and genre artist Professor Hans Alois Schram (Schramm), born 1864 in Vienna, died 1919 in Vienna. Alois Hans Schramm studied at the Viennese Academy under Hans Makart and J.M. Trenkwald. He recieved 3. State Prize and 2-year study stipendium for travell to Rome (1889-1890). From here he travelled to France (1893/1894), England,Spain, Sicily, Greece , Egypt and Syria. Since 1891 he is in Vienna again and in 1892 he recieved 2nd silver medall, 1902 - the "Erzherzog Carl" medall and 1908 - Large State Gold Medall . His works situated in museums of Vienna and Denver. Since 1890 he was a member of the artist union "Kuenstlerhaus". Literature: in German: Prof.H.Fuchs "Österreichische maler des 19. Jahrhunderts", Vienna, 1975 , "Allgemeines Lexikon der bildenden Künstler..", Leipzig, 1999 Inscription: signed lower left. Technique: Mixed media on cardboard. Original period frame . Measurements: unframed w 8 3/4" x h 10 3/4" (22,5 x 27,5 cm), framed w 13 1/4" x h 15 1/4" (33,5 x 38,8 cm). Condition: in very good condition.
