This Fratelli Ferrari 50cc is a small motorcycle from the short-lived Italian manufacturer Meccanica Italiana Fratelli Ferrari.
The company was founded in 1952 by brothers Amos and Gianfranco Ferrari in Milan and bore no connection to Enzo Ferrari's famous car brand. The use of the name “Ferrari” and a similar jumping horse led in 1953 to a successful trademark lawsuit by Enzo Ferrari, forcing the brothers to change their brand name to Fratelli Ferrari.
The 50cc version was one of the last attempts by the company to compete in the highly contested market.
Engine: a two-stroke engine from Franco-Morini was used.
Design: It was a light, sporty moped or small motorcycle, typical of the Italian “Povera” era (economical mobility) of the 1950s.
Rarity: The production numbers of all Fratelli Ferrari models (including the 125 cc and 150 cc models) were extremely low; in total only a few hundred units of the entire range were produced.
This 50 cc model is regarded today as exceptionally rare.
The paint has no scratches, dents or rust.
Chrome as well is good.
Exhaust at the rear top has small dents, very minimal.
Seats are very good.
Tank seals well.
Carburetor gaskets must be replaced after a long time.
Tires very good.
Engine turns over; once started, it runs.
Documentation missing.
Transport can be organized by arrangement.
