Description from the seller
Classical guitar in like-new condition, with an inlaid headstock, defect-free. Handmade and signed with an autograph pen signature (at the top right of the label), in addition to the signature that is part of the graphic design (center of the label).
In the 1970s Morris (Moridaira Musical Instruments Co., Matsumoto, Nagano) had the labels signed by quality inspectors, who were technicians or workshop masters. The most frequent signatures on instruments from that period include:
H. Harada – appears on models G-200, G-213, W-20, W-25.
H. Hoshino – present on some Morris classics and acoustics from 1975-77.
K. Tamura – on some top-of-the-line models (W-50 series and higher).
The second signature - H. Yakoya - at the top right of the cartouche is that of the luthier who actually built it.
This concert guitar is entirely built in the Matsumoto artisan workshop and not by external laboratories to which higher-quality models were outsourced.
First-rate woods:
Brazilian rosewood for the back and sides, German spruce for the soundboard, cedar for the neck and headstock, and ebony for the fingerboard.
The beaded inlays and the rosette, both handcrafted, complete this instrument, which is a manifestation of the finest craftsmanship of that era in Japan.
The sound confirms expectations, revealed to be soft, round, and of great intensity. A guitar that does not envy the most renowned Japanese guitars that were popular at the time.
The dimensions are: 650 - 52 - 3.5.
The guitar is presented in truly excellent condition, especially considering its age, with a very high-quality sound in every register and a volume absolutely comparable to much more renowned Italian or Spanish guitars.
This instrument, therefore, targets professional guitarists or enthusiasts of Japanese artisanal lutherie from those years and collectors.
