Sceptre, culture Adan, Togo. H54cm

Grand et atypique sceptre Adan du Togo. Il est rare de voir un objet Adan de ce style, c'est le premier que je vois en 15ans, les objets du Ghana, Togo et Nigeria sont ma spécialité. La sculpture est dynamique et vivante. Il y a un mouvement dans cette oeuvre. L'ensemble possède son équilibre propre, dans une belle dissymétrie! Le personnage central est absorbé, plongé dans les mondes parallèles des esprits. Des tissus l'habille. Dessous deux personnages le supporte. Cet objet nous amène vers un univers naïf et onirique. La sculpture est simplifié et schématisé, il y a une force primaire qui se dégage de cet objet. Belle patine sèche, avec des restes de sang séché par endroits. C'est un objet ancien, le bois et la patine l'atteste. Une belle pièce de collection ancienne et authentique. Circa 1950.
