Description from the seller
A remarkable and ultra-rare Speyside single malt from the historic Strathisla Distillery, bottled by the world-renowned independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail.
Distilled on 19 December 1953 and matured for an extraordinary 58 years in a Sherry Butt (#1614), this exceptional whisky was bottled on 21 November 2012 at 43.0% ABV. Such long-aged vintage Strathisla releases are considered true collector’s pieces and represent a disappearing style of old-school Speyside whisky.
This expression showcases the elegance and depth that only decades of careful maturation can achieve: rich sherried character, dried fruits, polished oak, antique leather, dark chocolate, pipe tobacco and delicate spices, all balanced by remarkable smoothness and complexity.
Bottled as part of the prestigious Gordon & MacPhail Licensed Bottling series, this whisky is highly regarded among collectors and connoisseurs of rare vintage Scotch whisky.
