Description from the seller

An elegant sword holder that blends samurai spirit with traditional Japanese decorative aesthetics.

This is a traditional Japanese standing sword holder (katakake/sword stand), crafted entirely with black lacquer. Its slender, upright shape and beautiful proportions exude a strong classical Japanese feel.

The most captivating feature is its entire surface covered in "arabesque motif" (arakasori pattern). The base, stand, and top support are all decorated with continuously spreading arabesque patterns painted in gold. The flowing, dynamic lines and intertwined layers are full of the beauty of traditional Eastern decorative art.

The arabesque pattern has long been considered an auspicious motif in Japan, symbolizing "the continuation of life, prosperity, and longevity," and is therefore frequently used on high-end lacquerware, weapons, and aristocratic objects. The naturally flowing vines and scrolls on this piece are balanced in composition, appearing even more serene and luxurious against the deep black lacquer finish.

The top support features a classic heart-shaped cloud design, echoing the overall soft curves; the base is thick and stable, with four legs ensuring display stability.

Dimension: 30 x 21 x 62 cm
Weight: 1.48 kg

Good condition, there are stains, scratches and wear-off due to aging and using, please also look at the listed photos for a reference.

Will be well packaged and Shipping by Japan Post in fast delivery.
