Two depth meters from the United Kingdom dating to 1910–1920 (one with a rope component from a Wigzell instrument) and 1930–1940, made of brass and copper, total weight 1.8 kg, dimensions 62 × 2 cm and 30 × 9 cm, in good used condition with minor signs of aging.
Description from the seller
Two depth meters, of which the part with rope is a component of a Wigzell instrument (see the last photo).
The other depth meter is weighted at the bottom. This concerns an antique sounding lead (also called a sounding lead or ship's lead),
This type of copper sounding lead was widely used on sailing ships and early steamships in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Dimensions 62 x 2 cm and 30 x 9 cm. Total weight 1.8 kilograms.
Many photos added so that the condition of the instruments can be assessed well.
The depth meters will sit very well as a supplement to a maritime collection or in a nautical environment.
Many photos added and also a photo with a pen so the size can be determined accurately.
