Cambus Special Release 2016, distilled in 1975 and aged 40 years, bottled at 52.5% ABV, 70 cl, Scotland, Lowlands, in original packaging.
Description from the seller
An incredibly rare, investment-grade Single Grain Scotch Whisky from the closed, "Ghost" Lowland distillery Cambus. This highly prestigious expression was distilled in 1975 and matured for an impressive 40 long years in refill American oak hogsheads before being selected for Diageo's legendary 2016 Special Releases collection.
As Cambus closed its doors forever in 1993, well-aged stocks of this caliber are finite and disappearing rapidly from the global market. Bottled at its natural cask strength of 52.7% ABV, this historic 40-year-old expression represents a masterclass in the elegant depth that old grain whiskies can achieve, making it a highly prized acquisition for both connoisseurs and collectors.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rich, bright, and intensely sweet. Inviting aromas of golden syrup, rich vanilla custard, fresh shortbread, ripe yellow plums, and a delicate touch of antique polished oak.
Palate: Unbelievably smooth, creamy, and full-bodied. Layers of salted caramel, dense toffee, sweet corn, toasted coconut, and white pepper spice tightly integrated with soft wood tannins.
Finish: Long, warming, and elegant, leaving a sweet trail of buttery pastry, dark honey, and a soft, clean oak dryness.
Condition Report:
Overall Status: Immaculate, pristine archive condition.
Bottle & Labels: The clear glass bottle, the minimalist front diamond label, the lower certification label, and the capsule are entirely flawless with the factory seal fully intact.
Packaging: The original heavy luxury presentation box is included and remains in immaculate, mint condition.
Fill Level: Outstanding, original high fill level (as pictured).
This highly valuable bottle will be shipped with top-tier security and care inside heavily reinforced packaging with full comprehensive insurance required.
