Description from the seller

Luca Fortunato Comerio (1878-1940) was a pioneer of Italian photography and cinematography. He documented the Milan uprisings of 1898 repressed with bloodshed by General Bava Beccaris and the Messina earthquake of 1908. He had also been named Official Photographer of the Royal House of Savoy and thus, in 1911, he could follow the war in Libya, producing avant-garde photographs and cine footage with the Kinemacolor color system.
This volume, produced by his production house, is an exceptional result of 'futurist' processing and editing, highlighting the modernity of Luca Comerio's gaze.
The Conquest of Libya. Pro-Heroes. Luca Comerio Edition. Printed by the Awarded Typographic Establishment G. Modiano 1912. Good condition. 24x33 cm. 80 unnumbered pages. 50 black-and-white photographs on two fold-out pages.
Tracked shipping. Careful packing.
