Antoine Liesens is a Belgian artist, born in Tongeren in 1954, whose work falls within the Pop Art movement. From the late 1960s he was strongly influenced by rock and punk culture, which shaped his artistic approach with an explosion of color and energy. After an adolescence marked by a quest for creativity, Antoine Liesens began his career in furniture and interior design. This experience fed his interest in forms and compositions before he turned to painting, inspired by Pop Art artists. His current work is characterized by the use of diverse techniques, notably acrylic on canvas, to create vibrant images that capture the spirit of rock and punk, while at the same time remaining firmly rooted in Pop Art aesthetics. Antoine Liesens continues to explore this fusion of styles and colors, resulting in dynamic and expressive works.
