Apple Keyboard A1048m transparent housing, vintage USB keyboard (2003–2004)
Original Apple Keyboard model A1048, produced around 2003–2004. This model was shipped with, among others, the Power Mac G4 and Power Mac G5 and is known for its sleek, transparent design with white keys, a true Apple classic from the early 2000s.
The keyboard has a full layout with numeric keypad, function keys up to F15, and Apple-specific keys such as Command (⌘) and Option (⌥). The two USB ports are located at the back, left and right of the cable input. This makes it easy to connect a mouse or other peripherals.
The keys use a rubber dome / membrane mechanism and have a clear, audible actuation but the characteristic sound of this generation of Apple keyboards.
On the underside is the original inscription:
“Designed by Apple in California. Assembled in Malaysia. Model No. A1048.”
Condition
The keyboard is in good vintage condition, with light signs of use appropriate to its age. All keys are present, the cable is intact and the housing is clear.
