Description from the seller
1986 Honda VF 500 F
The 1986 Honda VF 500 F is a mid-displacement sport motorcycle produced by the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda Motor Company. It belongs to the “VF” family, characterized by the use of compact, technologically advanced V4 engines for the era.
The vehicle is equipped with a four-stroke 498 cm³ liquid-cooled V4 engine, with a 16-valve configuration (four per cylinder) and carburetor fuel delivery. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a chain final drive. The power delivery is smooth and progressive, with strong high-end torque, typical of Honda V4 engines of that period.
Chassis-wise, it is based on a double cradle steel frame designed to ensure rigidity and stability in sporty riding. The suspension includes a telescopic front fork and a rear swingarm with twin adjustable shocks. The braking system consists of twin front discs and a single rear disc, a setup appropriate for the vehicle’s performance.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the VF 500 F features typical Eighties lines, with a front fairing, integrated windscreen, split seat, and a sport riding position that is sporty but not extreme. The design reflects aerodynamic research and the “race-replica” stance typical of Honda’s sport production of the era.
The 1986 Honda VF 500 F is today regarded as a motorcycle of historical interest, appreciated for the technical refinement of the V4 engine, build quality, and its role in the evolution of mid-displacement sportbikes. It is sought after by enthusiasts and collectors for its balance of performance, handling, and historical value.
As shown on the odometer: 32,004 kilometers.
Chassis number: 4104334.
Vehicle preserved in as-original condition as possible.
Sitting idle for some time, withdrawn from private collection.
Italian antique license plate no longer original, but in the same format as the period, province FG (the original plate was Bari).
The motorcycle is sold with user and maintenance booklets.
Motorcycle enrolled in FMI historic register.
Italian documents are in order, transfer of ownership required.
Possibility of home delivery in Italy and abroad.
The motorcycle is located in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
For foreign customers there are additional costs of 350 euros for the mandatory legally required inspection since 01/01/2020, for the removal of Italian plates, and for the appraisal carried out by an expert.
Customer is also responsible for customs-related costs if the vehicle leaves the European Community (EXTRA CE).

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
