Johannes Alphonsus (Jan) Sierhuis (1928–2023) was a prominent Dutch painter who is regarded as one of the leading expressionists of the twentieth century. He was known for his vital, expressive style with powerful brushstrokes and bright, lively colors.

CoBrA group: In 1948 he was closely involved in the founding of the experimental CoBrA group. He was, however, still too young at the time to become an official member.
