From 1973 onwards, he devoted himself entirely to printmaking and became particularly well known for his contemporary woodcuts. His works combine classical Japanese aesthetics with modern elements, for which he was admitted to the Sokikai artists’ association in 1982. He is also certified as an official traditional craftsman specialising in Wajima lacquerware.
