Amiga 2000 computer by Commodore, manufactured in 1990, memory 1 Gb - 100 Gb, used and not working, shipped without original box; includes the original Commodore mouse (tested and working) and the German Amiga Basic manual.
Description from the seller
One of the most desired computers produced by Commodore. The Amiga 2000!
My heart bleeds to put it up for auction but I need space for new acquisitions...
As the photos show, it is in good cosmetic condition; the case unfortunately has scratches and marks but the plastics are intact. The backup battery has been replaced. Along with the computer you will receive the original Commodore mouse (included, tested and working) and the Amiga Basic manual in German.
Regarding operation, I indicated in the listing that it is not functioning, but to be prudent and avoid misunderstandings. After testing it, here is what I have found:
- The machine powers on and boots, it includes Kickstart 2.0 (37.175). The audio and video sections are okay.
- HDD controller card and HDD installed, but the hard disk is not detected. I can’t tell if it’s a problem with the disk or the controller card; at first glance I’d say the hard disk is the main suspect, but I’ve never tried replacing it because I don’t have another SCSI drive available.
- Of the two floppy drives, the left one boots but doesn’t read well, the right one boots if you start the computer with the floppy inserted. They both still need to be checked, they have certainly suffered with time.
I vaguely remember having the Workbench floppies somewhere, but honestly I haven’t found them yet. If I can pull them out by the time I ship the computer, I will be happy to include them in the package, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to.
Regarding the shipping, costs are quite high because the total weight is around 20 kg and the box is very bulky. Naturally everything will be packed with the utmost care, in double boxing and plenty of bubble wrap to guarantee delivery without damage.
