Description from the seller
Splendid large Japanese Imari porcelain platter, dating from the 19th century (Meiji period) adorned with a sumptuous hand-painted decoration in the traditional palette of iron red, cobalt blue, and gold.
The back, decorated with a blue-painted dragon motif, testifies to the care given to every detail by the Arita workshops, renowned centers of Japanese ceramics.
General good condition but a chip is present on one side of the platter. Subtle from the front, it is more noticeable on the back. (see photos)
The platter can be displayed as a spectacular centerpiece, as a decorative wall piece, or integrated into a refined interior blending classicism and Asian art.
