German Archtop Jazz Guitar – 1950s – Beautiful Vintage Sunburst A beautiful and characterful German archtop jazz guitar dating from the 1950s. The exact maker is unknown, but the guitar was made in Germany during the golden era of German archtop production. Instruments of this period are appreciated today for their distinctive appearance, traditional construction and unmistakable vintage character. This example features a maple top combined with maple back and sides. Particularly attractive is the classic sunburst finish, which beautifully highlights the shape and elegant lines of the instrument and gives it the unmistakable appearance of a 1950s European jazz guitar. The guitar has survived remarkably well and naturally shows signs of age and use appropriate for a vintage instrument of approximately 70 years. Most importantly, the guitar is in good playable condition and can still be enjoyed as a musical instrument rather than simply being displayed as a collector's piece. With its elegant archtop body, beautiful maple construction and warm vintage sunburst, this is a charming piece of German guitar-making history.
