Pink Floyd - Meddle (Japan) – RARE 1974 EMI/Toshiba Issue – COMPLETE White OBI + Booklet + Pin-Up – NM Vinyl - LP - Japanese pressing - 1974

A beautiful and fully complete 1974 Japanese pressing of Pink Floyd's Meddle, issued by EMI / Toshiba-EMI under catalogue number EMS-80322. This is the third Japanese issue, released at a retail price of ¥2,500, and is immediately recognisable by its substantial Japanese gatefold sleeve and distinctive white EMI/Harvest OBI. What makes this copy particularly attractive is that it retains the complete set of original Japanese extras, which are very often missing from surviving examples. Specialist Japanese dealers specifically note that complete EMS-80322 copies with all of these loose components — original white OBI, original Japanese booklet with liner notes and English/Japanese lyrics, original pin-up / photo insert, and original gatefold sleeve — are now difficult to find, even in Japan. Meddle occupies a crucial place in Pink Floyd's development, bridging the experimental sound of their earlier work with the more focused, atmospheric style that would culminate in The Dark Side of the Moon. Side One includes "One of These Days," "A Pillow of Winds," "Fearless," "San Tropez" and "Seamus," while the entire second side is devoted to the monumental "Echoes," running for more than 23 minutes and remaining one of the defining compositions of Pink Floyd's pre-Dark Side era. ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original gatefold remains solid and very presentable overall. The main condition issue is heavy age-related staining and foxing inside the gatefold, something commonly encountered on surviving Japanese copies of this edition. Despite the interior staining, the sleeve remains structurally strong and attractive from the outside, deserving a solid VG+ grade. Most importantly, the OBI, booklet and pin-up are all present and well preserved, maintaining the elaborate original Japanese presentation. Vinyl (NM): The vinyl is a top Near Mint example, retaining a beautiful deep original gloss with extremely little evidence of previous play or handling. The surfaces are exceptionally clean and present beautifully — easily the strongest feature of this copy. ⸻ Details * Japan 1974 pressing * EMI / Toshiba-EMI EMS-80322 * 3rd Japanese issue * Original retail price ¥2,500 * Original white OBI * Original Japanese gatefold sleeve * Original Japanese booklet with liner notes and English/Japanese lyrics * Original pin-up / photo insert * Fully complete copy
