Motorola StarTAC - Mobile phone - In original box

State:
The device has never been used for daily use and was only switched on to check operation. The manuals have already been opened and show slight signs of handling. There are labels present. The original box shows storage wear, as visible in the photos.

Operation and battery:
The device powers on when plugged into the charger. The screen and backlight work. Although the device indicates the battery is charged, it immediately turns off once the charger is disconnected. The battery does not hold a charge and must be replaced for use without mains power. Presumably this is due to age.

Calling and connection to a mobile network have not been tested. The device is offered as a collectible item, with the battery defect described above.
