Compaq SLT/286 - Laptop (1) - Without original box

Here I offer: the first battery-powered laptop with built-in hard drive and removable keyboard. An innovation from Compaq on the highly competitive market as a direct competitor to Microsoft. Cool design, sleek, practical, innovative – for its time. This model was introduced in 1988, and this exemplar is likely manufactured between 1988 and 1990. For fun, it was also nicknamed the “breadbox.”

Notably, the weight:
- Laptop alone: 5.43 kg
- Charger: 805 g
- Total weight (with power cord): 6.452 kg

Dimensions:
34.5 cm x 21.5 cm x 10.5 cm

All as shown. Defects: A carrying bag is not included. The battery for about three hours of operation without mains is not present. The cover strip for the backup/insert panel on the back is missing. Additional accessories such as manual, mouse, floppy disks, disks, etc. are not available.

Operational readiness here means: it boots up as shown on the screen. I, as a layperson, cannot go further. That’s a matter for specialists. However: whoever reads this far already knows the score.
