Leo Setz

Painter J.W. van Trirum was born on 21-02-1924 and died on 21-09-2011.
He attended evening classes at the art academy of Rotterdam.
There, he was taught painting by teachers Johannes Heyboer and Van Oort.
Jan is best known for his paintings of young kittens. He has also made
stable interiors with horses, playful puppies, puddles with ducks,
and beach views. In addition, he also worked on 
a series of paintings of the Biesbosch for some time. In the 1960s, he made modern work with
powerful brush strokes that were applied with both a brush and palette knife.
He also painted many portraits. Jan van Trirum was a member of the International
Organization of Free Art [IOFA].
