Ralf Uicker - Skyline

Ralf Uicker was born in Karlsruhe in 1959. After long stays in Morocco, Paris and the USA, the skilled craftsman started photography at the age of 29. Very conscientious and with stylish photo ideas he made a name for himself in the field of still lifes and architectural photography. As a counterweight to commissioned work, he has been photographing cities and landscapes for several years. Here, too, his ability to immerse the ordinary, often seen, in a dramatic light and thus put his accents, is clear. The stylish handling of old, technically complex techniques of photo art and the representation in clear perspectives show a relationship between his work and the classics of architectural photography. Ralf Uicker does the whole precess of his own photos, from taking them to making unique vintage prints. Weeks pass before a small selection of hand-made enlargements are ready to leave the laboratory. His demands on his own work are too perfectionist. Only qualified printing technicians reproduce these unique photographs into the highest quality art prints. And even at this stage, up to the last art print, the artist supervises and corrects his work. This work of art was part of a company collection. Dimensions without frame: 108 x 80 cm.
