Unique "Vessel" Sculpture Few Kind Masterpieces Eva Fritz-Lindner.

A whimsical handcrafted and hand painted glazed pottery, "Bowl" or a masterpiece of a rhyton drinking vessel.

Designer / creator: Eva Fritz-Lindner (1933-2017) with i3D label, around 1970.

Frosting: The matte colors are bright and vivid and the hand painting only adds to the original charm and light of the age-appropriate frosting.

Additional Comments: It is likely that a rare shape of less than 10 was made.

About the artist:

The daring sculptor and folk art ceramist Eva Fritz-Lindner (1933-2017) studied at the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden and Darmstadt and was a master's student in Erich Kuhn's sculptor class.

From 1955 she worked as a master designer at the Staatliche Majolika-Manufaktur Karlsruhe, where she created and designed several hundred highly regarded ceramic folk art animal sculptures and unique works of art on walls and gardens inspired by nature and possibly the Karlsruhe local zoo. Owls and family concepts were a particular specialty. During this time she created designs for building and garden pottery, pots, and small sculptures. Since 1964, the sculptor has worked as a freelance artist in her own studio in Karlsruhe-Durlach. The artist designed important works in the field of building ceramics, including mosaic wall designs, in Mannheim, Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Schwäbisch Gmünd and Göppingen. Of particular interest, she created huge-scale owl sculptures for the palace gardens in Karlsruhe in 1967 (see photo).

In 1962 Eva Fritz-Lindner received the silver medal at the International Ceramics Exhibition in Prague.

The artists' ceramics are owned and located in the Hetjens-Museum Düsseldorf, in the Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art in Frechen, in the State Museum of Württemberg in Stuttgart, in the Badenisches Landesmuseum Karlsruhe, in the Museum of Applied Arts in Cologne and in the National Museum of Ceramic Valencia. In addition, numerous private collections both in Europe and the United States covet her art.

Most of her larger sculptures were probably produced in less than 50 copies based on research and all were individually hand painted by this artist, ensuring that each piece of art is truly unique. The larger-scale works were unique or limited to a handful of copies.
