Rare superb impressive plaster sculpture (Salvatore Mélani) from the Art Deco movement, representing a pretty young woman in the pure style of the beauty codes of the time holding a pheasant. The woman is dressed in a sublime dress including a beautiful drape with marked pleats.
 
At the back, on the base is the signature of the sculptor's name:  MELANI 

Salvatore MELANI; born in 1902, he died in 1934. One can find various sculptures in plaster, bronze and chryselephantine from this artist; his style is very much that of the inter-war period with athletic bodies inspiring modernity and confidence in the technological and industrial future of that period.

This sculpture numbered 700 exactly is impressive because of its size 63 cm in length, its colours... More than 100 years old! In good condition for its age, some lack of paint in some places. No breakage or lack of plaster. A lot of character...
