Design “Nio” won the Johnson Mathey Silver Award, in 1982. About 1998 production started commercially, not in silver, but in stainless steel. In 2000 the name changed from “Io” to “Nio” and production moved to new location, in 2009 production stopped as the price of the stainless steel material and other manufacturing costs had effectively doubled over the period.
