The Mini was bought by my father in the early 90s as an orange 1100 Special with a black vinyl roof. The bodywork was already in very good, original condition, new front wings had already been mounted in the past. After replacing the left and right bottom in the front, he had it sprayed around 1995 in the current green with white, both inside and out. It was valued for insurance purposes (see photos), it then drove just under 20,000 km until 2004 as a hobby car, it was then stored in a shed.

In 2021, we decided to take it out of the shed and sell it as we have several hobby cars and we didn't want to leave it for another 20 years. 

Nothing needed doing to the engine. The bodywork has coped remarkably well after all those years standing still, the paint still looks fine, only a few rust spots have appeared. There’s not rust on the usual places such as around the headlights, the vertical edges, under the rear bumper, etc.

The inner and outer sills were poor, new sheet metal was used and then treated internally with Tectyl. The rear subframe was disassembled, de-rusted, sprayed and treated with Tectyl, it was not rotten, it only had surface rust.

The brakes were completely checked and all brake hoses were replaced, it also has 4 new tyres.

The Mini has a valid Dutch periodic inspection for 2 years and drives like I remember.

The result is a very original Mini, any structural issues were addressed, ready to have fun driving it. A little work would complete the finishing touches for it then to be in mint condition.
