Fiat - Cinquecento Trofeo Abarth - 1996

Fiat Cinquecento Trofeo Abarth, from 1996. The car took part in the ‘Trofeo Cinquecento Abarth’ and according to its booklet, belonged to the famous trophy leader of the ‘Scuderia Supergara’, as well as to another trophy driver and another team, as recorded in the attached documentation (see photo). It is fully functional and professionally maintained by mechanics and bodywork specialists. It still needs a service before use, it is a very rare car and a sure collector's item. Absolutely original, equipped with a new technical booklet issued in 2009 as a duplicate of the old booklet which has been withdrawn. The safety equipment for the competition needs to be updated, as well as the paper CSAI technical booklet, which is now issued in electronic form. It can participate in slalom races, extended homologation rallies or historic rallies if equipped with the HTP system. Once the historical period is reached, it will need to be upgraded annually to be eligible. It comes with the Trofeo Cinquecento promotional brochure and documents to prove that the first owner took part in the event. The car is very famous, with many photos and videos online, and has always been operated by ‘Scuderia Supergara’, who used to rent it out (Supergara also ran the Panda Rally Trophy in the early 2000s, on behalf of Fiat, which was also won by ‘Scuderie Raceline Sport’, the owners of the car before me, and has therefore been used by several more or less famous drivers. Over the years, the most famous and winning teams were ‘Supergara’ and ‘RoRally’, with famous drivers like Basso, Pianezzola, Galli, Pedersoli, De Adamich and Loeb, just to name a few. . It is equipped with the rare and costly Abarth control unit signed and guaranteed by Abarth engineer Sergio Limone (see photo in purple). It was given out in a draw before the races and had to be returned under pain of a heavy penalty that only teams like ‘Supergara’ could afford. It is the smallest trophy and A-class car ever produced in the world. It is a very fast and enjoyable car that has trained legions of young champions who subsequently became famous. This is perhaps a unique opportunity to own an item that will certainly be revalued, given its extreme rarity and historical significance. It is one of the last genuine Abarths, a testimony to the work carried out all over the world by the technicians of the Fiat racing group over the years. A trolley or tow truck is needed for collection, because as a competition car it cannot be driven on roads open to the public. It is fully documented and must be registered if in Italy or deregistered for export if the buyer is in another country. It is recommended to visit the vehicle before placing a bid to avoid disappointment. For an appointment, please contact Catawiki.
