Jaguar - XK150 DHC - 1959

Jaguar XK150 DHC 1959 Survivor. This wonderful XK is still in original condition and has not been restored. It has a wonderful patina and also some signs of wear. There is an increasing appreciation for classic cars that have not been restored and botched, since restoring a car often means it will lose a lot of its originality in the process. This car comes with a logbook kept by its owner in San Francisco which contains a lot of information about the car's maintenance history. For example, it mentions the engine being overhauled in 1979. This engine overhaul is the starting point on which the odometer began counting the car's mileage. The Jaguar has been in the Netherlands for quite a while now. It is well maintained, it drives and shifts fine and the overdrive is fine as well. The engine runs quietly and does not produce any unusual background noise and the brakes have been overhauled recently. The Jaguar also has disc brakes and new, vintage Blockley tyres. The clocks have been overhauled recently as well. The seats and upholstery of the convertible top are all still original. The rare chrome tension hooks are original as well. The bodywork is in very good condition and is not damaged or rusted anywhere (thanks to the Californian climate). The Jaguar was originally cream coloured but the outside has been repainted at some point in the past. The paintwork has a beautiful patina and also some stone chip damage. The floor of the car is beautiful and original and the chassis is properly straight. The boot is untouched as well. Bare spots have been treated with Owatrol. The spoke rims have been treated and painted black recently. A valuation report, heritage certificate and logbook are included. In short, a great and very reliable Jaguar which is a joy to drive. To prevent disappointment, it is recommended to come and view the car before placing a bid. Please contact Catawiki to schedule an appointment.
