Jaguar - XJ6 S2 4.2 - NO RESERVE - 1978

Jaguar XJ6 European version, with only 22,279 km since new. It has been in a garage since 1995, owned by a German businessman who had moved to Italy. The colour, interior, engine, gearbox and bodywork are fully in order (with Jaguar certificate). It is equipped with an air conditioning system. The bodywork is in the original British Racing Green colour and has just been polished. There are some imperfections from normal use (see photos) and some spots have been repainted in the past, but it is shiny, solid and quite presentable. The genuine "Connolly" leather interior in biscuit colour is original and beautiful, the dashboard is perfect and the car is an authentic English saloon. Mechanically, the gearbox has been completely overhauled, a new starter motor has been fitted and a complete overhaul of the fuel lines and carburettor has been carried out, with a new battery. The car starts and runs; it can be driven on private land, some routine maintenance work for long distance driving may be required at the discretion of the new owner. A/C system needs restoration of the connection lines, but present. The underbody is pretty solid (see photo) as you would expect from a car with very few kilometres covered and some original factory stickers are still present! The MOT expired in 1995 and the car is delivered without a valid MOT, the German documents being in copy. We can provide a technical sheet to help with registration in your country. Such solid, original, low mileage Jaguars are now very rare and a great investment for the future, the 4.2 version featuring the same engine as the glorious Jaguar XKE (E-Type). Some videos of the car, engine and road driving are available. A high-resolution photo gallery is also available and is part of this description, on the seller’s website. Please ask Catawiki. Bidders are also welcome to view and test the vehicle, which is located in Quarrata 51039 (PT), Italy. Please contact Catawiki to arrange an appointment. You can also book a video call from your smartphone. We can arrange transfer of ownership or exports documents remotely. Affordable shipping to Italy, Europe and rest of the world. You can also conveniently pick up the car on site, as it can stay 15 days at our storage facility free of charge. We recommend viewing the vehicle before the end of the auction, even via a video call on your smartphone (WhatsApp, FaceTime). Please send a message to Catawiki for an appointment. The seller reserves the right to claim compensation if the buyer does not pay for the purchase, which shall automatically be deemed to have occurred with the winning bid and obliges the buyer to make the payment, as per the sales contract available on the seller’s website.
