The first Karmann Ghia models definitely were the most beautiful ones. They still had that low back with the small rear lights, the convex chrome hubcaps, the small round indicators / blinkers at the front, the thin chrome bumpers, the beautiful dashboard with the small round petrol gauge between the two large clocks with chrome edges, the classic mono radio (not connected), the tilting ashtray in the dashboard, the white switches, the ivory steering wheel and the white rotary knob for the heater next to the gear handle.

The coupé depicted here was supplied new in Colorado, USA in 1962, and came to the Netherlands 10 years ago. Since then, the car has undergone extensive maintenance. The car comes with a large file on the new parts the car has been fitted with (total cost: € 11,500, which is without the costs of labour). Always taking into account the high level of originality.

The bodywork has the original Jadegrün (L349) colour and it is solid and very neat. Small improvements are possible for the perfectionist, but it is simply beautiful and free of rust. The interior is truly stunning. The chrome of the decorative window frames, the emblems and the bumpers are in very good to new condition. 

Everything is also very good mechanically. The engine has been revised in the past and has always been well maintained / kept. In this respect, many parts have been replaced as well. The coil, ignition, carburettor, fuel pump, alternator and all the maintenance have been done by specialists. The transmission has a new, complete clutch and shifts gears in a light and direct way.  The shock absorbers, tyres, brakes and wheel suspension have all been replaced in the past and function very well. No weird sounds when driving, Teutonic thoroughness through and through!

The Karmann Ghia drives wonderfully and is a reliable car. Ghia's Italian flair and the well-known German quality make for a good combination! An valuer who saw the car was highly enthusiastic about its originality and the Dutch maintenance records. This expert ranked the car class 2.

We would like it if you would come and view the car. For foreign buyers, we will arrange the correct export documents free of charge, so registering the car in your country will be a quick process. We would also be glad to assist in finding professional transportation, if needed.
