Well-maintained, original 1983 Mercedes 500 SEC. 
The vehicle was originally delivered to Italy and only driven on the roads there.

In March 2023, the vehicle underwent a complete TÜV inspection (German MOT equivalent) and was allocated an H number plate (an H or historic number plate denotes a classic car) in Germany. 
For this purpose, the mechanics of the vehicle were repaired as follows:

- restoration of gearbox (costs of over €3,000)
- including new seals and oil seals
- restoration of steering gear
- repair of power steering pump
- new spark plugs and cables
- new ignition distributor 
- new radiator
- new alternator
- new fan belt
- new battery
- new tie rods
- new steering damper
- new tyres
- wheel alignment

The bodywork makes a very good, solid impression; there are no visible rust spots, but the paintwork has blemishes in several places.

The light interior looks nice, but is patinated commensurate with its age. 

The electrical aids (power windows, sunroof, belt feeders) work. 

Known flaws:
- ventilation, radio and electrical antenna don't work
- occasional brake vibration (possible ABS fault)

Vehicle document folder, service booklet and various invoices are available.
