De klok heeft een mahoniehouten kast met een doorsnede van 42 cm. Hij is gemaakt door Smiths Enfield Clock Company, een bedrijf waarover vrij veel bekend is.

Het werd opgericht door August Schatz in 1929 en vestigde zich aan Pretoria Road in London. Het bedrijf werd ingericht met klokkenmakersinstrumenten uit Duitsland en bemand met een team van klokkenmakers uit het Zwarte Woud. De eerste lijn klokken werd geproduceerd in 1932. Door de stevige concurrentie vanuit de Duitse markt werd in 1933 besloten om samen te gaan met het klokkenmakersbedrijf Smiths. Na de fusie werden er klokken geproduceerd onder beide namen: Enfield Clock Co. en Smiths. Vanaf 1952 werden enkel nog klokken geproduceerd onder de naam Smiths.
