“Mijn ouders gooiden niets weg. Zo kreeg ik een paar jaar geleden de hele serie “Marion” (tijdschrift met patronen voor kleding) van 1962 en 1963. Alsof ik een schatkist in mijn handen kreeg. Ik kan ontzettend genieten van de tekeningen en foto’s van de modellen met hun jurkjes, kapsels en make-up. Ook oude plaatjes uit school- en kinderboeken vind ik prachtig om te zien. Mooi eenvoudig en zo heerlijk vol met kleur. Ik kan dan ook kwijlen bij prenten uit China, Mexico en India. De kleuren die gebruikt worden zijn net zo heerlijk uitgesproken als mijn kleurrijke patchwork meubelstoffen”.
