In 1957, Tony Vaccaro photographed Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the founders of modern architecture, for Look magazine. Vaccaro spent 15 days with the architect in Taliesin, Wisconsin, where Wright lived and taught his students his own principles and techniques.
Wright was 90: Tony was 35 and already a recognized photographer thanks to his work for very famous magazines such as Flair, Look, Life, and others.

Wright died two years later. 
Frank Lloyd Wright was born on June 8, 1867, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, at the end of the American Civil War and died on April 9, 1959, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the dawn of the Space Age. Wright is considered one of the founders of modern architecture. In 1932, Wright founded the community of Taliesin, where students from all over the world can still attend school today. In the 72 years he dedicated to architecture, Wright completed 1,141 projects from drawings to designs, of which 532 were completed. Tony Vaccaro, born on December 20, 1922, in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, has been telling stories with his photographs since 1943 and is considered one of the masters of photography. From 1944 to 1945, he participated in World War II as a war photographer and took nearly 5,000 pictures as a soldier, from the Normandy landings to the Elbe River.

From 1995 Vaccaro was represented by Bilderwelt Gallerie in Berlin. Together they produced SHOTS OF WAR, ENTERING GERMANY, LA MIA ITALIA; FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT, and several other traveling exhibitions, as well as the television documentary "Schnappschüsse vom Krieg" (Shots of War) (MDR-ARD). The exhibitions are documented in 15 catalogs and books and have been shown more than 100 times.
Tony Vaccaro died at the age of 200 in his home in Long Island City.
