SABA Freudenstadt Stereo 18 – Fully Serviced – Excellent Condition

SABA Freudenstadt Stereo 18, one of the last and finest examples of German tube radio engineering from the late 1960s. With its refined circuitry, excellent FM stereo performance, and elegant cabinet, it represents the peak of SABA’s consumer tube radio production.

Condition:
The radio is in excellent condition, both technically and cosmetically. It has been fully serviced: all tubes have been tested, weak or faulty ones replaced, and all key components (capacitors, resistors, switches) checked and restored as needed. The band selectors, volume and tone controls, and tuning system operate smoothly. Internally, it’s clean and free from corrosion or damage.

Sound Quality:
Equipped with high-quality built-in speakers and a powerful tube amplifier, the Stereo 18 delivers warm, spacious stereo sound with rich bass and clear highs. The FM section supports stereo decoding with excellent channel separation. The soundstage and tone depth are what you’d expect from a high-end German tube set of this era.

 The Freudenstadt Stereo 18 is a rare and collectible model, especially in this kind of original, fully functional and aesthetically excellent condition.  It’s highly valued among collectors and vintage audio enthusiasts for its performance, design, and the fact that it belongs to the final generation of SABA tube radios before solid-state models took over.
