“Figura Aperta” – meaning Open Figure in Italian. A title that highlights both the hollow core of the piece and its abstract, almost humanoid silhouette—open, expressive, and full of silent motion.

This piece is a bold, abstract sculpture entirely handmade by Valentina Cojocaru using black stoneware with 25% chamotte contaminating the clay body with gray veins. Its surface is raw and natural, revealing ground mineral textures that emerge from within the clay body, giving the form an earthy, tactile presence.

Measuring 40 cm in height, 25 cm wide, and weighing 4 kg, the piece stands as a monolithic yet fluid gesture— both rooted and in motion. The pierced centers create a sense of negative space, allowing the piece to breathe and shift with the surrounding light.

Crafted slowly and intuitively by hand, Figura Aperta is not functional but rather a standalone sculptural artwork, ideal for collectors and design lovers seeking unique contemporary forms that echo the body, nature, and raw material essence.
