Indrukwekkende religieuze sculptuur van de jonge Christus, uitgevoerd in polychroom gips. Hij staat rechtop en maakt een zegenend gebaar met de rechterhand, terwijl hij in de linkerhand een open boek toont met de tekst: Si vous m’aimez, imitez moi (Als u Mij liefhebt, volg Mij na). Het gelaat straalt zachtheid en ernst uit, en de krullende haren en verfijnde details van het gewaad benadrukken de kwaliteit van het werk.

Dergelijke sculpturen werden begin 20e eeuw vaak geplaatst in Franse kerken en kapellen, waar ze een belangrijke rol vervulden in de devotie.

Hoogte 52 cm. In goede staat met duidelijke ouderdomssporen.
