Fraai lot met hierin een antieke messing tondeldoos in het verleden gebruikt voor het bewaren van tondel (licht ontvlambaar droog materiaal).
Om de tondel te laten branden werd een vuurslag over een vuursteen geslagen zodat de vonk de tondel kon laten branden waarna hout of een pijp kon worden aangestookt.
In 1826 werd de lucifer uitgevonden, hierdoor werd het omslachtige gebruik van de tondeldoos na ca. 1850 overbodig en werd deze dus ook niet meer geproduceerd.
Deze tondeldoos is uitgevoerd met sierringen op het cilindrische gedeelte en is een sieraad in uw collectie of voor decoratie van uw interieur.
Dit is een ambachtelijk meesterstukje vervaardigd door een koperslager en heeft door de jaren heen een mooi ouderdomspatina gekregen. 
Verkeerd gezien de leeftijd en gebruikshistorie in een goede conditie.
Afmetingen : hoogte inclusief ketting ca. 9,3 cm, lengte ca. 7,2 cm en diameter ca. 3,1 cm.
Wordt zorgvuldig verpakt en aangetekend verzonden met track and trace.
