Een 19de eeuwse sarcofaagvormige theekist vervaardigd gedurende de Engelse (late) Regency-periode omstreeks 1820-1830. 
De theekist is opgebouwd uit een lichte (Naald-)houtsoort belijmd met fraai gevlamd Rio Palissanderfineer en details van Buxus-/of Hulsthout.
Aan weerszijden heeft de theekist de originele vergulde messing handgreepjes in de vorm van een fruitmandje. 
De binnenzijde heeft restanten van de originele tinfolie en de deksel is bekleed met rood papier. De onderzijde is bekleed met de originele groene geweven stof, dat de te verwachtte gebruikssporen heeft zoals verkleuring, vlekken en gaatjes.
De messing scharnieren, slot & sleutelentree en ijzeren slotoogje zijn origineel, een werkend sleuteltje ontbreekt helaas. 
De theekist heeft een paar kleine oude (niet storende) restauraties aan de biesjes. 
De gehele theekist heeft een mooie warme oranjebruine kleur met prachtige contrasterende goudgele details en een fraaie zijdeglans!
