Mercedes-Benz 300B Adenauer (W186) – 1954

ALGEMEEN

Te koop aangeboden: een Mercedes-Benz 300B Adenauer (W186), afkomstig uit de Verenigde Staten, later geïmporteerd naar Duitsland in 1990 (volgens de originele Fahrzeugbrief). De auto wordt momenteel aangeboden met een Duits geëxporteerd kenteken (Fahrzeugbrief) – zie foto’s voor documentatie.

Deze indrukwekkende 300B werd in oktober 1953 geproduceerd en in februari 1954 afgeleverd, zoals bevestigd door de originele wagenkaart.

De Mercedes-Benz W186, geproduceerd tussen 1951 en 1957, was het vlaggenschip van Mercedes-Benz – de meest prestigieuze en luxueuze auto van zijn tijd. Vaak omschreven als de “Maybach van de jaren vijftig”, combineerde hij elegantie, kracht en exclusiviteit. De 300-serie werd geleverd in drie generaties: de 300 (300a), 300b en 300c, gevolgd door de 300d (W189).

De 300B was grotendeels handgebouwd en werd beroemd als de persoonlijke dienstwagen van Konrad Adenauer, de eerste bondskanselier van de Bondsrepubliek Duitsland. De naam “Adenauer” werd sindsdien synoniem voor deze statige Mercedes.

CARROSSERIE & LAKWERK

De carrosserie van deze 300B verkeert in goede, gebruikte conditie. De auto is in het verleden gerestaureerd door de vorige eigenaar en destijds afgewerkt in zwarte lak. Volgens de originele wagenkaart verliet de auto de fabriek in de kleur Graubeige (157).

Het lakwerk vertoont enkele gebruikssporen, met name rond het achterraam, zoals zichtbaar op de foto’s. Desondanks blijft het geheel indrukwekkend en waardig – de proporties en elegantie van de Adenauer blijven onmiskenbaar aanwezig.

TECHNISCH

Onder de motorkap ligt de iconische 3.0 liter zes-in-lijn M186-motor, goed voor 115 pk. Deze krachtbron is gekoppeld aan een volledig gesynchroniseerde handgeschakelde vierversnellingsbak.
De motorconstructie met aluminium cilinderkop, dubbele Solex-carburateurs en geavanceerde diagonale klepopstelling getuigt van de technische verfijning van Mercedes in de jaren vijftig.

De auto rijdt, remt en schakelt naar behoren, maar na langere stilstand verdient hij technisch een controle en enig onderhoud. De wagen heeft enkele jaren in opslag gestaan en is sindsdien nauwelijks gereden.

Recent is de auto voorzien van een werkend airconditioningsysteem (R134A) – een discrete en comfortabele toevoeging die de zomerse ritten aanzienlijk aangenamer maakt.

INTERIEUR

Het interieur is uitgevoerd in rood leder met een prachtig houten dashboard en sierlijsten. Het geheel verkeert in goede, nette conditie en behoudt zijn authentieke uitstraling. De sfeer in het interieur is die van pure klassieke luxe – met vakmanschap en materialen die typerend zijn voor Mercedes-Benz in de jaren vijftig.

DOCUMENTEN

De Mercedes-Benz wordt geleverd met zijn Duitse Fahrzeugbrief (exportdocument) en kopieën van de originele wagenkaart die de productiedatum en eerste levering bevestigen.

OVERIGE INFORMATIE

Deze Mercedes-Benz 300B Adenauer vertegenwoordigt het summum van prestige uit de jaren vijftig. Een auto die destijds werd bestuurd door staatshoofden en hoogwaardigheidsbekleders, gebouwd met de hand en in beperkte aantallen geproduceerd.

Met enig technisch nazicht kan deze 300B weer de grandeur uitstralen die hem tot een icoon maakte.

Een echte liefhebbersauto – majestueus, historisch en met een uniek verhaal.
