Description from the seller
Danish vintage teak serving tray. The piece is a design in the style of designer Jens Quistgaard, produced by Staved teak Denmark from the 1960s. The object is signed on the back.
This Danish Mid-Century Modern tray is made of solid stave teak.
An iconic example of Scandinavian craftsmanship from 1955–1970, executed in warm, aged teak with an elegant, organic form.
The tray features a refined, light boat-shaped contouring, subtle raised edges, and ergonomically shaped handles on both sides. The elongated grooves not only add a distinctive aesthetic detail but also keep glasses and crockery stable – a combination of beauty and functionality that only Danish designers have been able to unite.
The wood displays a stunning grain and warm glow, characteristic of high-quality Danish teak. Thanks to the staved construction, the tray is very stable and durable, a technique typical of the quality production from the Danish furniture and serveware industry of that time.
A stylish, decorative, and practical object that fits perfectly in any mid-century or modern interior.
Dimensions: L 52 cm x W 25.7 cm x H 4.5 cm
Weight: 653 grams
The item is in beautifully preserved vintage condition and has been thoroughly cleaned. Of course, it is not new and features a lovely natural patina from age and use, with two small burn marks on the front. It will be securely packed and shipped via registered and insured delivery with smart shipping methods.
