ALGEMEEN

Deze origineel Nederlandse Austin Westminster A110 uit 1962 is uitgevoerd met een automatische transmissie en een krachtige drie liter zes­cilinder Austin-motor. Het betreft het grootste en meest luxueuze model binnen het Austin-programma. De auto is origineel in Nederland geleverd en beschikt nog over het oude Nederlandse kenteken. Dankzij zijn soepele automaat, comfortabele rijgedrag en voldoende vermogen is deze klassieke Austin uitstekend geschikt om ook in het huidige verkeer moeiteloos mee te rijden.

CARROSSERIE & LAKWERK

De carrosserie verkeert in zeer mooie conditie, zonder roestvorming of deuken. De auto is professioneel behandeld tegen roest door de firma Goslinga in Leeuwarden, wat de uitstekende conditie van het plaatwerk verklaart. Het lakwerk is zeer verzorgd en glanst fraai. De Austin is voorzien van nieuwe, originele chromen wielsierringen en Vredestein-banden met voldoende profiel.
Verder is de auto uitgerust met een origineel jaren zestig imperiaal inclusief bijpassende koffers, een originele achterruitjaloezie, authentieke Lucas-lampen aan de voorzijde en een brandblusser uit dezelfde periode.

TECHNISCH

Technisch is de auto in zeer goede staat. De motor loopt mooi en krachtig, en de automaat schakelt soepel. In 2024 is de Austin volledig nagezien en heeft hij een groot onderhoudsbeurt gehad. Alle belangrijke onderdelen zijn gecontroleerd en waar nodig vernieuwd. De stuurbekrachtiging werkt naar behoren, al is er een lichte lekkage bij de pakking van de pomp.
De auto rijdt stevig en comfortabel, met een verfijnde wegligging die past bij een luxe zescilinder sedan uit de jaren zestig.

INTERIEUR

Het interieur ademt pure Britse klasse. De stoelen zijn opnieuw bekleed met hoogwaardig leder, waarbij de voorstoelen zijn voorzien van nieuwe bekleding. De stoelen zitten zeer comfortabel, mede dankzij de dubbele armsteunen voorin. Alle meters en bedieningselementen op het dashboard functioneren volledig naar behoren. Het geheel verkeert in een verzorgde, originele staat die de sfeer van de jaren zestig prachtig behoudt.


DOCUMENTEN

Bij de auto wordt een uitgebreide documentatiemap geleverd met onder meer de originele handleiding en diverse historische gegevens over de Austin Westminster A110.
Ook is aanwezig een officieel certificaat van het British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, getiteld Certified Copy of a Factory Record”. Hieruit blijkt dat de auto op 20 september 1962 is geproduceerd en op 25 september 1962 op transport is gegaan naar de Nederlandse Austin-importeur R.S. Stokvis & Zonen in Rotterdam. Deze firma, opgericht in 1849, was van 1937 tot 1970 de officiële importeur van Austin in Nederland.

De eerste Nederlandse registratie vond plaats op 29 mei 1964.

AFHALING

De auto is rijklaar en kan in overleg worden afgehaald. De afhaallocatie is in Nederland; verdere afspraken over transport of levering kunnen in overleg worden gemaakt.
