AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A desirable, small formQur'anic bi-folio from the 16th Century, from the Safaivid period that ruled the Persian empire from 1501 to 1736. The pages contain scripture from the final 2 verses of chapter 41, Fussilat (Verses Perfectly Explained) and the chapter heading and beginnings of chapter 42, Ash-Shura (Consultation) v.1-13. The final two verses of chapter 41 explain that creation testifies to the truth of God, while verses 1-13 of chapter 43 extend this truth through expoing God Almighty, God as a protector, God as the creator and provider and offering advice to believers to put their trust in him and him alone.

Although relatively plain, it contains a decorative Surah written in Gold Thuluth in the left folio, with script in elegant black naskh. Simple but gold aya mark the verses and diacritical markings in red provide the reader with devotional guidance. Since gold frame lines outline both folios. There is some commentary in the margin, with some in gold pen.

Each folio is 11.5x7.5. This small form suggest this would have been a travelling Qur'an enabling devotional duties to be performed while on journeys.
