Description from the seller
THIS IS THE LAST EXCLUSIVE PHOTOBOOK AUCTION by 5Uhr30.com in 2025 -
with more than 100 great lots from my personal collection and from recent acquisitions.
VERY SCARCE ISSUE OF THE GERMAN AVANTGARDE MAGAZINE 'Die Form' ('The Form').
Subtitle: 'Zeitschrift für gestaltende Arbeit' ('Magazine for creative work').
This issue (6th year. Issue 5. 15th May 1931) is including, beside many fantastic photos by Hein Gorny also the highly impressive advertisements for the legendary photobooks 'Eisen und Stahl' by Albert Renger-Patzsch (in the second half of the rear cover) and 'Mechanisierte Grafik' by Paul Renner (at the rear side of the rear cover).
The magazine 'Die Form', which was published between 1903 and 1930, was an important avant-garde publication dedicated to promoting modern art and architecture and disseminating experimental approaches. It played a key role in shaping and disseminating the ideas of the Bauhaus and other avant-garde movements by bringing together different disciplines and introducing new design principles.
Like always 5Uhr30.com guarantees detailed and accurate descriptions, 100% transport protection, 100% transport insurance, and of course, combined shipping - worldwide.
The term avant-garde is used when an artist takes an innovative and experimental approach to one aspect of their art. The avant-garde in photography takes a critical stance towards existing aesthetic views.
It is important to understand that avant-garde refers to an artistic movement that challenges existing aesthetic norms and seeks new forms of expression.
