Description from the seller
For this artwork, only second-hand teddy bears have been used, sourced from flea markets or rescued from the trash and immortalized in this way. The piece is sold worldwide to art collectors and galleries, but the bear also frequently appears in various forms on the street. (See photos).
The original teddy bear was dipped in ultramarine blue ink. It was then pressed entirely onto museum paper.
Technique: Ultramarine blue acrylic, 240 grams acid-free pressed paper.
Including: Artist Certificate of Authenticity
Delivery: Worldwide shipping within 48 hours, rolled in a tube
Edition: UNIQUE (number 098-6, signed on the front).
Numbering refers to: which teddy bear it concerns (in this case, bear 98) plus which unique print of that bear has been made: 6. Most teddy bears are made with a maximum of 10 unique works.
Michiel Folkers, better known as Gieler (1982), started as a graffiti artist in Amsterdam in the late 1990s. He now works in his studio, but the rawness of the street remains visible in his art. His work travels around the world and is displayed in galleries from Zurich to New York. Especially in the United States, his work has become incredibly popular in recent years, and it hangs on the walls of several celebrities.
