Very Scarce Copy by Alexander Fleming (1881 – 1955) & George Ford Petrie (1870 – 1959) The book discussed modern serological remedies, such as the treatment of snake bites, and preventive vaccines, including nonspecific and protein therapy. It was written when Fleming was already famous for his earlier discoveries, including penicillin, which was a separate development from the book's topics. First edition, and first printing. Published by J. & A. Churchill, London, 1934. Publishers’ original dark blue cloth boards with gilt lettering to spine. Book Dimensions: 21 x 14 cm and Number of Pages: 463 including index of subject and index of authors + 16 pages of selected books at rear. Condition External covers are clean and in nice shape, with few faded marks, and light wear to corners, and to head and foot of spine. Internally; the book in very good condition. A sticker from ‘History of Medicine Library’ and stamps of ‘Veterinary Department, Liverpool’ on inside front cover and free endpaper pages. Text block is very clean, and unmarked. Inner hinges are very good, and pages are tightly held at gutters (Excellent Copy) (Please see pictures).
