k werk inmiddels meer dan 25 jaar als schilder, met een blijvende fascinatie voor het menselijk lichaam en de tijd die daarin zichtbaar wordt.
Mijn serie Precious Bodies, waarin oudere lichamen centraal staan, loopt al jaren door en vormt de kern van mijn praktijk. De laatste tijd ben ik ook andere richtingen ingeslagen, zoals schilderijen van jonge mannen, boxers en meer verhalende composities.
Deze veiling laat een bredere kant van mijn werk zien.

Precious Bodies is een serie waarin ik het ouder wordende lichaam met aandacht en respect schilder. Niet de perfectie staat centraal, maar juist de sporen van het leven die in de huid zichtbaar zijn: rimpels, lijnen en texturen die verhalen dragen. In een tijd waarin ouderdom vaak wordt weggestopt of genegeerd, wil ik de schoonheid, waardigheid en kracht van deze lichamen zichtbaar maken.
