Magnificent hand-painted Nevers ceramic plate featuring vibrant, richly layered colors and a beautifully preserved glossy glaze.
Signed “A. Montagnon JM” on the reverse. Produced by the renowned Montagnon manufactory, also known as the Manufacture du Bout du Monde, a historic ceramic house founded in 1648 in Nevers. The factory was acquired by Antoine Montagnon in 1875 and remained active until its closure in 2015.
This striking decorative plate dates from the early 20th century and beautifully reflects the celebrated artistic tradition of Nevers faience.
